CHOCOLATE, HAIR + LINT 2000-2002
For a period of two years I collected baker's chocolate, hair that fell from my head while blow drying and lint from my clothes dryer.
This collection concerns the passing of time, my work about the house, my obsessions and desires. The chocolate, pleasure and guilt.
The lint, remains of the family laundry, my daily labor and a marker of time. A symbol of the forgotten, what we discard and perhaps,
what we lose. The hair that falls from my head relates to my physical being. Age changes us physically and spiritually. As the
body deteriorates the soul seems to come together. As a marker of time, these images remain, remind, inform and guide.
They refer to what falls away, forgotten.
